Streets of Green Planning Meeting Minutes
NEXT MEETING: March 24th, 6pm @ Neighborhood CenterPresent: Megan Leggit (City Sprouts), Daniel Lawse (Neighborhood Center), Trilety Wade (GNC), Tim Hemsath (Flatwater), Clayton Miller (Flatwater Chapter), Teresa Gleason (Omaha by Design), Cynthia Shuck (Gifford Park NA/ReTree Ambassador), Cammy Watkins (Sierra Club)

Brainstorming Session (25minutes)
Green Home Tours 4 homes. open from 1-5pm on a Saturday. Ticket fee $5
GNC organized mission with, Food – Water – Energy – Materials & Resources
- FOOD - Glen Polluck – Edible garden tour.
Add community garden tour. United Methodist Church.
Green walking tour – neighborhood green, bike shop, community garden, walkscore.com.
- Mat&Resources – PATH home or others?
- Each house has self-guided tours, homeowners and volunteers will labeling themed items. Have severalstations in homes with volunteers to aid in self guided tours.
- Flatwater sponsor tags for homes.
- Have checklist for green items within each house and receive discounts from ACE as sponsor.
Neighborhood Walking TourCynthia Shuck - Walking neighborhood on the hour every hour. tours 2-4pm, guided tours starting at specific times and within the Gifford Park. Jack Phillips give tree tour, native grass tour. Daniel walk down cass street past community garden (by City Spouts) to Bike house. Signage for tour. Omaha by Design, place game facilitators at intersection at 33rd and California.

Green Lifestyle – cleaning, recycling
Be in specific area to focus in area.
Emphasize greening is Not expensive and hard.
Inside and outside the home.
Cool and aha with green homes. Aerators for faucets. Wrapped water heater. Signs up for description of items with cost savings over a year. Rain Gardens and Rain Barrels. Demonstrating the economics of green and improving comfort.

All inclusive of the community
Start small and take one thing bring in more collaborators and m make this much larger, multi-day event.
Bike tour of neighborhood boulevards
- Green Roofs – Saddlebrook following year.
Green Neighborhood Award Events – Neighborhood Association Awards.
Green Scorecard is rating system for event.
Giveaway Award for people – Green Homes makeover – materials and makeover.
Community Garden Tour – City Sprouts
Ten Best Public Spaces – What makes good public space, get involved and do something.
Bike Fleet – Transportation Component as part of event (Community Bicycle Shop Omaha)
